| The first 2 table trays are complete! |
Hey everyone! Remember the other day when I said I was going to redo our table trays? No? Well, you can read all about it here. If you click on that "here" link, you can also read about how I got a big thumbs up from my husband and you can see some inspiration pieces for the table trays.
Thank you all for your feedback, ideas, and encouragement as I prepared to work on this project. I've only completed 2 out of the 4 table trays so far and I've had so much fun doing it. I used the inspiration pieces as a guide, but I actually decided to do something completely different for the trays.
So here are a couple of photos of the table trays before:

Here's the first table tray I worked on. The lyric on this one is from my favorite song "La Vie Dansante" by Aaron Neville. I think Jimmy Buffet sang it also. You can really see from some of the minor errors that I was getting the hang of stenciling. My only other real experience stenciling before was from this project. I bought the chandelier stencil but handmade the letters. I definitely learned a lot working on this first table and I may redo it at some point in the future. But for now, I'm okay with it.

Okay, so this next one was from my husband's favorite song, "Nashville Skyline," by Dishwalla. I had a lot of fun working on this one. I handmade all of the stencils for this table and I just had fun with the colors. I was a little sad when pulled off the stencil for the top portion and saw that some paint came up and some smeared. But looking at it now, I think it gives it character!
I'm looking forward to doing the next two tables & seeing how they turn out. This one is probably my favorite so far.
So...what do you think??

ReplyDeleteWow these look so pretty! I painted my tv trays recently as well! Mine are just stripy though, not as decorated as yours. They turned out very nice!
ReplyDeleteThey look terrific! I think the "flaws" give them character and make them seem worn and vintage (in a good way). Kudos!
ReplyDeleteThose look so awesome! You are clearly very talented!
