{Japan} Photo Challenge #14: Childhood Memory

I live thousands of miles away from all three of my siblings right now and it's a little tough since we're all really close to one another (no pun intended).  Right now, we live on 3 continents and in 4 different countries.  It's hard not being able to see my nieces in nephews on a regular basis (skype makes this a little more bearable), but on the bright side--and there's almost always a bright side--it makes visiting them that much more of an adventure.

Last summer, I visited my brother in Germany.  I shared a bit about that visit with you in this post.  I definitely didn't go into as much depth on that visit as I should've.  Perhaps I'll stroll down memory lane and share more in the future.

This year, my husband and I spent Christmas with my family while visiting my sister and her family in Japan!  I had never been to Japan but I was super excited to reunite with my family and to get out and explore a new country.  I have one word to describe Japan:  spotless!  It was the cleanest country I've ever visited.

Here are some pictures from our visit.  And look, I even worked on the 30 Day Photography Challenge!

Our first day in Japan my sister took us on a bike tour of Yokohama.  They don't have a car in Japan--they walk, ride their bikes, or take the train everywhere.

Childhood Memory:  Riding bikes with my family.  Not everyone in my family went on this bike ride, but going on the ride brought back a lot of memories from my childhood.

Me, my husband, my brother, my dad, my nephew, and one of my sisters (the one who lives in Japan)
We rode all over Yokohama, Japan
I must give credit where credit is due:  my brother took this picture!

A beautiful sunset as we finished our bike ride
A view of the Yokohama skyline from my sister and her husband's apartment window--beautiful!
Over the next couple of weeks, I'll share more pictures and experiences from our visit.
