Photo Challenge #24 & #25: Fruit and What I Wore Today and my Edit Me

Well, my friends, I've completed photo challenges #24 and #25.  Do you know what that means?  That means I only have 5 left!  I can't even believe it.  Well, I kind of can believe it because I started a couple of months ago.  Regardless, I've learned a lot during this whole process, like how to be comfortable taking pictures of myself (i.e. the self portraits and what I wore today shots) and how to make pictures look a little prettier.

Here's my picture of fruit.  I love strawberries!  You can rest assured knowing that I gobbled up every strawberry in this bowl after I took the picture.  No good fruit goes to waste in this house.
Photo Challenge #24: Fruit
Here's what I wore today.  I took a couple of pictures of me just sitting and looking at the camera, but I didn't think that would be much fun, so I played with my scarf a bit.  Oh, and you can see my camera remote in my hand.  I was going to crop that out, but then I'd be cropping out the bottom half of my outfit--my jeans!

Photo Challenge #25: What I Wore Today

This whole challenge has been a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to finishing it up with a big bang next week when I present the last 5 photographs at once!  Yep, that's right...I have a lot of snapping to do between now and then.  Here are my last challenges:  a bad habit, something blue, eyes, close-up, and one more self-portrait.  Stay tuned..

Edit Me Challenge
Now for the Edit Me Challenge.  I'm really enjoying this challenge.  Not only because it forces me to try new things on fun new pictures, but because I get to admire other people's work and learn from them.  The guest judge for the week is Selena from Stoneyville and Selena Stoney Photography.  Selena shared this really beautiful photo from a wedding--gotta love wedding photos.

Here's the Before

Here's my After:
Here's what I did:
  • I increased the temperature and the tint slightly
  • I lightened up the blacks and added a bit of fill light.
  • I increased the clarity and vibrance but also increased the brightness.
  • I focused some on the colors:  more yellow, less red, more green, less aqua, and more blue
I wanted the picture to look bright and "beachy" since it was on a beach.  What do you think?  What would you have done differently?

Oh, and I have a surprise that I'll be sharing with you all on Sunday!  I don't typically post anything on Sundays, but this is a special occasion, so make sure you check back then.  And, yes, it has a lot everything to do with photography.  Stay tuned....

  4. Love the photo of you playing with your scarf! I had the same problem (with the remote in my hand) when I did a family portrait shoot at our family reunion on New Year's eve! There we are, all nice and pretty, and I have a remote in my hand! Oh well...that's a pretty good representation of who we are in the world - I am most likely seen with either the camera or the remote! I also enjoyed what you did with the wedding photo. The tutorial was helpful!
