You know what I love? I love the simple pleasures of life. I love when something so small and simple can bring joy and put a smile on my face. Here's a picture of something that makes me happy:
Yes, it's a spoon holder. I went to this really cute pottery painting studio in my town a couple of weeks ago with some girlfriends. We looked at different things we could paint for a little while. I knew I wanted to paint something that I could actually put to use at home. When I saw the spoon holder, I was sold--I needed one badly.
Painting was so relaxing and it made me remember how much I miss crafting and painting at home. When I finally got the holder home, I put it to use immediately. Every time I look at it, I smile. I don't smile because I think it's the most beautifully painted object in the world. No, it's far from it. But I smile because it helps keep my stove clean! Like I said, it's the simple things in life.

ReplyDeleteYour spoon holder made me smile too. I went to one of those pottery places over the summer and had a blast. I made a big old' coffee mug.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty ... I like how the stems travel up the handle and the blossoms open up into the 'bowl' of the spoon. I've always wanted to go to one of the paint-it-yourself pottery places ... some day! :)
