Camping on the Beach

A couple of weekends ago, Scott and I went camping on the beach with a couple of friends.  It was Scott's first time camping on the beach and it was my first time camping--ever!  Totally serious.  Sure, I've slept out in the woods lots of times in the 10 years of military training, but I've never been camping for fun.  This was a really fun trip.

It was a beautiful weekend for camping and, though we could see lightning off in the distance most of the night, rain didn't fall until we were already back in the truck, packed up, and driving off to grab breakfast.  I took a lot of photos while we were out there, but the ones posted below are probably my favorites.

The pictures make the trip look really glamorous, and it was while we were out there.  But when we got home, we realized the sand fleas had fun with us.  I guess the OFF I brought that we sprayed on ourselves didn't protect us as much as we had all hoped--or maybe we just put it on too late?  Aside from the annoying bites, it was a great trip and I'd do it again!

There was a $1,000 fine for walking on these, but no fine for taking pictures of them...thank goodness!

Oh boy, I don't know.  Actually, after studying philosophy in college I learned that I appreciate philosophy, but I just don't have a favorite.

Chipmunks!  And not Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.  But the actual little furry guys.  They're cute!

About 5:30pm when my husband comes home from work.

I have so many!  Most recent would be traveling around Japan with my whole family last Christmas.

What A Fun Surprise

What a fun surprise it was for me to see that my new friend, Brandi, at Cosmo Mom with a Twist of Lyme gave me the Sunshine Award!  Thank you so much, Brandi for this fun award!
