Eenie Meenie Miney Mo...

Have you ever ordered glasses online?  How did it go for you?  I have the hardest time ordering glasses online because...well...I just don't trust that little picture of me that shows me what I might look like wearing the glasses.  I like to actually try frames on before I purchase them.  I don't wear glasses to look cute, I wear glasses because I wouldn't be able to see without them.  Seriously, I wouldn't be able to see anything without them.  BUT, that doesn't mean I don't want to look cute while I wear them.  If I have  to wear them, they're gonna look good!  There's a part of me that's so tired of going to a store to try them on, though.

I was determined to find an online glasses store that is affordable, reliable, and has stylish frames.  I read reviews of several online stores I came across and I just wasn't impressed.  And then I came across a few others...some that would ship me a few frames to try on for free to help me decide which frames I should go with.  I ended up choosing Classic Specs

**Disclaimer:  I am not being paid for this post nor have I received any free products from them because of this post.**  Classic Specs allowed me to choose 6 frames that they shipped for me to try on.  And, I must say that their virtual try-on was pretty good.  Look at the photos below...the red frames are really as red as they look in the virtual try-on!

Real Life

Best part of it all, they have a flat-rate price line!  $89 for the frames, prescription lenses, & anti-reflective coating.  Oh, and they have free shipping (including shipment for trial frames to get to you and to send back to them) and they donate a portion of profit to New Eyes for the Needy.

Remember I told you that I desperately need glasses to see?  Well, because of that, my lenses were a bit more expensive --a $20 charge for allowing me to see into the future, hah!   But because they didn't have a color I requested for one of the frames on my list, they gave me a 10% off coupon code.  Awesome!

So, my six frames arrived in the mail for me to try on and now I need your help!  I narrowed down my choices to my top 4.  Which frames do you think look the best??

Sautéed Veggies Over Tofu Noodles

Do you ever plan/make meals by letting your grocery store visit inspire you?  I do.  I love to peruse the produce section and let what I see inspire my dinner plan for the week.  Well, not always.  I do like to have a list before I go in to keep me on track--sometimes I can get a bit carried away; especially if I go in on an empty stomach.  Talk about dangerous!  But, there are those days when I just let my culinary imagination run free.  That's what happened with this meal:

Sautéed Veggies over Tofu Noodles
What inspired me with this meal?  I saw some amazing looking peppers and thought they'd be tasty in an Asian-inspired dish.   I also came across some tofu noodles that I hadn't tried before so I decided to give those a whirl.  I must say, this dish was tastier than it looks in the pictures.  Seriously, the pictures don't do it justice.

1T Olive Oil
1 Red Pepper Julienned
1/2 Onion Sliced
Handful of Spinach
1 Carrot Diced
1T Minced Garlic
Soy Sauce (a splash or two)
Tofu Noodles (1 bag)

I sautéed all of the ingredients above in the olive oil except for the tofu noodles--I prepared the tofu noodles according to the package directions which were super easy.  The ingredients above make enough for one person (with a little bit of leftovers), so if you're planning on a dinner for 2+, scale each ingredient accordingly.

Man Cave Monday: New Paint Color

Great Plains.  That's the name of the paint color I chose for the Man Cave.

Here it is, folks:

I wanted to choose a light color to brighten up the basement.  But, I didn't want to make it feminine--I even steered clear of some of the colors that had more feminine names haha.  The picture I posted above makes it look like it's on the pink side, but I promise it looks more brownish beige in person.  Hey, Scott told me that he trusts me and that I don't need to ask him about everything...hopefully this will turn out nicely.  Fingers crossed.  Since the green paint on the walls was so dark, I had to get a primer to put on before Great Plains gets painted on.

It's been so long since I've painted walls, I'm nervous about messing something up. YouTube.com has become my friend for sure!   This is going to be a lengthy project...but well worth it.

What do you think of the paint color?  Is it masculine enough?

Emi Wrist Wear

Greetings, everyone!  I hope you all have had fabulous weeks!  I'm feeling very blessed, if I do say so myself.

Today, I want to share a special project I've been working on for the past few weeks.  A couple of months ago, the owner/founder of Emi Wrist Wear asked me if I'd be interested in photographing her product to help upgrade the Emi website.  I was thrilled and honored (to say the least) that she would ask me and responded with a resounding "of course!"
Emi Wrist Wear offers handmade fabric-based wrap bracelets that add a touch of style to any outfit.  The fabric makes the wrist wear lightweight and breathable.  The magnetic clasps allow for quick & easy fastening and you don't have to ask anyone else to help you put it on!  They're the epitome of effortless style.
Check out the photographs below to see the different styles of Emi Wrist Wear.  Which style fits you best??  (Be sure to read the bottom of this post for some exciting information)

So, would you like to hear more exciting information?  Emi Wrist Wear developed and released a brand new line this week!  It's awesome; you should check it out..and soon because the new line is selling out quickly.  You can also see the line by becoming a fan of the Emi Wrist Wear Facebook Page.  Oh, and the photograph below isn't in the new line.  You're gonna want to see...trust me.  But, if you're patient, you can come back here next week when I cover the new line in another post.  Your choice!  Have a great weekend!!

Green Lemonade

Have you ever had Green Lemonade?  I hadn't until I tried this juicing blend.

Melissa over at My Soul Is The Sky shared 4 yummy looking juice recipes.  Out of all four recipes, I decided to give this one a go, and boy am I glad I did!  It was refreshingly tasty, and look how bright green it is.  There's no tomfoolery with distortion of the color--that's really how it looks!

Here's the recipe for it.  To check out the other juice recipes from My Soul Is The Sky.  Be sure to visit Melissa here and please let me know what you think when/if you try it!
