I think setting goals is SO huge. Goals help me stay focused and remember why I'm doing what I'm doing. I think the first step in goal setting is to set a BHAG. Have you ever heard of a BHAG before? It's a Big Hairy Audacious Goal. I've shared my BHAGs with a few people I'm close with--I've learned to guard my goals and only share them with people who I know will support me as I work toward achieving them. I've learned the hard way that when I share them with the wrong people (the naysayers/doubters), I'm often tempted to give up before I've even begun. Admittedly, I've succumb to that temptation several times.
Here is my motivation for one of my health and fitness goals. I will be wearing this for a special occasion in a few months and I'm determined to wear it well!
